For now, the information compiled here has been ripped from the pages of TheMelvins.net's Message Board and presented here in one concise document. To the best of the knowledge of the author of this site and his countless fact-hunters, these tid-bits of Melvins joy are true, or at least Highly plausible. Facts are presented in no particular order (for now. chronology is tempting for the future) and where applicable, melvins.net forum usernames, real names, or aliases will be attached for credit.

The Melvins have been mentioned in the Herald Sun newspaper. On 11/2/06 at 1:06 AM mopafeena, a member of the message board writes:
"I was totally freaked out and surprised and perplexed all at the same time today.
A bit of background info:
One of our major newspapers here, the Herald Sun, has a weekly liftout on Thursdays called Hit. It's like a music/entertainment sort of thing. To give you a bit of an idea about what's in it, today's single reviews were of singles by Nick Lachey, Paris Hilton and Pussycat Dolls. It also had a big article on one of the guys behind the Saw movies.
Ok, here's where the melvins relevance comes in. It has a quiz on the back page, basically 10 entertainment industry related questions. I do this quiz each week out of pure boredom. Anyway, today i was going through it and was up to question 7 which was:
Which cult band's line-up once included the daughter of screen star Shirley Temple?"

According to Dale Crover in a November 17, 2006 Oklahoman article by Gene Triplett, the melvins hold their band meetings at Disneyland. could we expect anything different?
Mr. Crover had this to say, "And we like to have our band meetings at Disneyland...And the new guys, they're all for that. They thought that was a pretty good idea. A pretty good way to start the day is goin' to Disneyland and talkin' about future music plans and things like that."
Thanks to "Cow Bomb Detective" for supplying THIS ARTICLE to the Melvins-L nerd list.

If you haven't already read the above article, then you don't know that the melvins wanted to recruit Dave Grohl as a 2nd drummer after Cobain blew his face off. Instead, Grohl decidede he wanted to start a band called Foo Fighters, and not be a melvin. Obviously he made the wrong choice, but it is interesting to know that buzz and dale have wanted a 2nd drummer since way back then. Thanks, coady, for making their dream (and some of ours) a reality!
